PGCE & Teaching Experience

In 2023, I completed a PGCE in Art & Design, gaining hands-on teaching experience across secondary schools. I taught classes of 20+ pupils across KS3, GCSE and A Level, with projects spanning fine art, photography, graphic design and textiles.

Working primarily with the AQA exam board, I developed a strong understanding of assessment criteria and gained experience marking and assessing pupils’ work. I particularly enjoyed encouraging students to develop their own ideas, experiment creatively and build confidence in their artistic abilities.

My background as a professional designer brings an additional practical and creative perspective to teaching, allowing me to connect classroom projects with the wider world of design, visual communication and the creative industries.

I’m currently open to helping students build and strengthen their GCSE and A Level sketchbooks, with one-to-one or small group sessions designed to help them develop their ideas, refine their presentation and better understand what is needed to achieve higher grades. Sessions can be arranged on an ad hoc basis or regularly, depending on the student’s needs.

Art Exhibition Contributor

Over the years, I have been involved with various art exhibitions, whether promoting artists, helping to sell their work or simply immersing myself in the art world. I have always been drawn to the energy and creativity of these environments, with a genuine appreciation for the skill, dedication and vision required to become a professional artist.

The art world has continued to interest me, not only personally but commercially too. My design career has brought me into contact with artists, galleries and creative businesses, giving me an understanding of both the creative and commercial sides of the industry.

If you have an upcoming art event where my experience, skills and enthusiasm could be of help, I would be very interested to learn more about it.
